DAVE MUSTAINE: It Is Great To Be With A Guitar Company That Honored DIMEBAG So Well
January 20, 2007MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"It was so good to see some of you yesterday at NAMM, and now we can talk about the new guitars! What a great feeling yesterday to come to NAMM (which I have only been to in Anaheim three times with ESP, I don't recall ever with Jackson, and only twice back with B.C. Rich when Gar managed the place).
"This was the best feeling I have had so far, and I am proud to be at the top of the Dean roster with the many other great artists there. It is great to be with a company that honored Darrell [Abbott, PANTERA] so well, along with the rising talent they have with bands like TRIVIUM, and elder statesment like Leslie West and the Schenker brothers.
"I have a short appearance again today and then I will be finishing up my text for the album liner: lyrics, credits, thanks, etc. After that we should be preparing for our next world tour and we should have some news about confirmed dates soon.
"Andy Sneap is plugging away at the mix, and if necessary, I will fly back to England to bring some more sunshine his way."
As previously reported, MEGADETH's new song, "Gears of War", is available for download at this location. The track comes off the group's upcoming album, "United Abominations", tentatively due in March via Roadrunner Records.
Said Dave Mustaine about the track: "This was a mix made by Andy Sneap to apply for the job as mixer on this record and I was so impressed I wanted him to help me finish up the last parts as well as cutting two new songs we hadn't planned on releasing. [It was] a great start to one of my favorite records to have ever made so far. If the process of writing and tracking, and the energy we felt in the studios is any indication, then this is just the beginning of the rebuilding of the perfect beast!"
A video clip of MEGADETH performing "Gears of War" live on October 31, 2006 at Six Flags in Springfield, Massachusetts during the "Gears of War - Match Made In Hell" event has been posted online at YouTube.com.
